The Science & Application of Essential Oils Video is, in my opinion, one of the most useful resources to maximize your experience with therapeutic-grade essential oils anywhere.  Aside from the Essential Oils Desk Reference, I have received more practical — really usable — information from this video than from any other resource on aromatherapy.

What makes The Science & Application Video so helpful?

What I like best about this video — what I have used the most in my own practice of medicinal aromatherapy — is the clear and detailed demonstration of the Vita-Flex Technique.

While RainDrop is a truly amazing application of therapeutic-grade essential oils, and the RainDrop Video is an excellent way to learn this revolutionary aromatherapy application, you can't very well do RainDrop on yourself; and finding someone who knows how to perform it on you is not always possible.  But, the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video can be easily adapted for use on yourself.  And, instead of just working the spine — as in the RainDrop Technique Video — the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video shows you how to affect basically every organ system in your body.  On yourself, or with even a minimally-trained helper.

What you'll find on the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video

The Science & Application of Essential Oils DVD is about — you guessed it — the science of essential oils and the effective application of essential oils.  And while I find the science part intriguing, it's the application part that makes this video truly a treasure.

The Science & Application of Essential Oils Video was the original RainDrop Technique video (which has since been up-dated and enhanced several times).  In the RainDrop Video, there is a demonstration of how to apply oils along the spine and the in-step of the feet (to affect the spine), using the Vita-Flex Technique.

But, the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video, presents a much more detailed demonstration of this technique, to direct the therapeutic benefits of the oils to many other areas of the body.  Many areas of the body can be affected utilizing points along the spine.  But here's what makes the Science & Application DVD uniquely valuable to those learning to do aromatherapy:

→ In the Essential Oils Desk Reference, there is a pretty good treatment of the Vita-Flex Technique, but it is very hard to translate printed information into a working knowledge of the application, without a visual demonstration of it.

→ In the Science & Application of Essential Oils DVD, there is a demonstration of Vita-Flex, applying oils to the feet, legs and back, and showing how you can use therapeutic-grade essential oils and essential oil blends for other things.  For example, demonstrations shows how to:

• use the essential oil blend DigestZen on the Vita-Flex points of the feet and along the shin for the support of the digestive system;
• use the essential oil blend of Endo-Flex on the back for the support of the adrenal glands.  (Geranium would make a good alternative.)

(You will note that the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video is Young Living-specific.  However, while I don't recommend Young Living oils, the technique itself is applicable to other quality oils.)

The information on this DVD is something that my family and I use every day.  I do Vita-Flex on my own feet almost every day, and have used the demonstrations on this video for a host of other things, for me and my family.  (See my description of an oil session for more details.)

I simply cannot imagine my life without the things I've learned from this video.

Along with the Essential Oils Desk Reference and the RainDrop Technique Video, the Science & Application of Essential Oils Video forms a very solid foundation for the effective use of therapeutic-grade essential oils.  Of course, don't forget to check out Modern Essentials and the AromaTouch™ Technique DVD.

My personal opinion: In terms of everyday, practical use — for those not working professionally in massage therapy — you may find this video more helpful than the RainDrop Technique Video.  It puts the amazing power of aromatherapy at your fingertips (if you'll excuse the pun) in a way that nothing else will.  It's not a replacement for the Essential Oils Desk Reference, the Integrative Medical Guide or Modern Essentials, but it will enhance the effectiveness of what you do with these reference many times over.
