Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) oil from dōTERRA®
Warming, stimulating, cleansing, powerfully antioxidant, useful for aches and pains
Cinnamon is most well-known for its extensive use as a spice in flavoring food. Its fragrance is warming and stimulating, making it very comforting during the cold and flu season. However, its popularity as an essential oil stems from its many therapeutic uses, including its cleansing properties and its usefulness with aches and pains.
5 ml bottle.
About cinnamon oil:
Historically, cinnamom was so popular, it was the main reason behind the occupation of Ceylon, first by the Portuguese, then the Dutch and then the British. It has been produced in Sri Lanka for over 2,000 years.
Cinnamon oil can use for aromatic, topical or dietary purposes. It is among the most antiseptic of the essential oils, and many people find it to be highly romantic.
Cinnamon oil scores 10,340 µTE/100 g on the ORAC antioxidant scale, and is an important ingredient in the On Guard™ blend.
How to use: Because of its high phenol content, it is best to dilute cinnamon oil, about 1 drop to 40 or 50 drops of fractionated coconut oil, before applying on the skin. If the mixture is still too hot, simply apply additional fractionated coconut oil over to top.
Cinnamon oil may be applied neat (i.e.: undiluted) on hands and bottoms of feet, and may be added to food or rice milk as a dietary supplement. Some people have reported that adding a drop of cinnamon oil to a glass of water and sipping it is an effective remedy for diarrhea.
